Rickinder Sethi, MSc, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Rickinder Sethi (He/Him) is an academic psychiatrist and healthcare leader dedicated to advancing high-quality, evidence-informed mental health care that is both clinically rigorous and operationally scalable. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and a psychiatrist at University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, where he serves as Medical Lead of the ECT program.

Dr. Sethi focuses on interventional psychiatry for complex and treatment-resistant mood disorders, combining deep clinical expertise with an outcomes-driven approach to service design. His work spans neurostimulation (ECT and rTMS) and novel therapeutics including ketamine and psilocybin, with a particular commitment to improving access for first responders, veterans, and patients in under-served communities across Ontario. Across his roles, he prioritizes patient safety, measurement-based care, and the development of systems that deliver consistent excellence at scale.

He is especially interested in novel models of care that expand access and continuity for high-need populations. In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Sethi serves as Physician Lead with Ontario Health for the Ontario Health VISTA Program, supporting improvements in accessibility to psychosocial oncology care. He completed psychiatry training at Western University and a fellowship in Psycho-Oncology and End-of-Life Care at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. He also holds an MSc in Clinical Service Operations from Harvard University, strengthening his work at the intersection of clinical innovation, health systems improvement, and patient-centered care.
